The Sustainable Tourism Community presented some of the technological solutions implemented in the Mediterranean coastal areas to promote sustainable tourism at the Forum TurisTIC on 13 October 2020, that this year is fully dedicated to technological solutions aimed at breaking up concentrations of tourists and promoting off-season tourism. The eight edition of the congress focused on the new tourist models, which have had an expansion due to the new consumption habits generated by the global health crisis that we are facing in 2020

Herit-Data, ATER ECO and DestiMED Interreg MED projects participated in a workshop focusing on “Tools For Thinning Tourist Density And Promoting Off-season Tourism In The Mediterranean”. By introducing the session, Josep Rodriguez (DIBA - Barcelona Provincial Council, lead partner of the Sustainable Tourism Community) explained the added value of the Sustainable Tourism Community, an Interreg MED Programme initiative, gathering 22 territorial cooperation projects to promote the results achieved and to advocate for better policies to facilitate the transition towards more sustainable tourism models.
