Call for nominations - 2019 UNESCO-Greece “Melina Mercouri International Prize for the Safeguarding and Management of Cultural Landscapes”

(Rome, 12 February 2019) The 2019 UNESCO-Greece launched the competition “Melina Mercouri International Prize for the Safeguarding and Management of Cultural Landscapes” featuring a 30,000 USD prize rewarding actions that both safeguard and enhance major cultural landscapes throughout the world. Applicants, who can be individuals, institutions or NGOs, have until 30 April 2019 to make their submissions.

Sustainable Development is a goal set out, among many others, in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Contributing to the fulfillment of this goal should therefore be on everyone’s agenda. It was on Melina Mercouri’s one, whose name was given to this prize in honor of her work for integrated conservation as a former Minister of Culture of Greece.

You can access the call for nominations here and apply here through the UNESCO website.
